The new day starts as yesterday ends – a beautiful and warm morning welcomes us in the Dunes of Calais and we’ve been looking forwards to crossing the Chanel.

The ferry trip is always a very special happening for us inland Swissies, and also this crossing we’ve enjoyed very much – especially the top view to the white rocks of Dover.

Our plan was to do an other day of driving only to gain some hundreds of kilometers on our way to Scotland. It has been very crowded not only on M25 also on M1 with several short and longer delays – but a good thing was, that we’ve met an other splity in a delay.

Bettina and I shifted for driving and around 8 pm (Greenwich Time) we’ve decided to stay for overnight at service area near Wetherby (near York) – finally our first NOT top ten place – indeed
