Well today has’nt gone quite to plan! We’ve successfully removed the engine from reckless only to confirm our thoughts of a collapsed thrust bearing. It’s done a great job with ball bearings and metal all over the inside of the gearbox housing. Completely knackered!
Now we’re struggling to find the parts but with the help of Berkley at Status VW who gave me Pascals number at BBT who gave me Gian Piero’s number at Maggiolino Restore In Pescara we think we’ve located a complete clutch kit including the clips for the thrust bearing to clutch forks which we think are what have up and allowed the thrust bearing to slip out of place and eventually self destruct.
hopefully that’s the last technical problem on your tirp 🙂 wish you guys a good on going trip –::– cLaUDe
Fingers crossed! Thanks for the support Claude, much appreciated.
