5 minutes before our lunchtime stop Reckless radios a clutch problem and issues changing gear. We’ve only been on the road one and a half hours and in the coolest part of the day so as not to stress the vans but obviously the mileage is catching up on us.

After spending a few hours cooling down in Lake Tresemino we decided to have a tinker and see if we could ease the issue of gear selection enough for us to complete our planned night drive to Ancona. We suspected the thrust bearing breaking down but we did not want to remove the engine here in the outback!
