so this is it. summer is fading out and autumn has started to paint the trees. somehow summertime went by like the german ICE train and with all ups’n downs the first season of my restored bus was a blast. sunday I met up with friends from my region to ride our vans through the valleys and hills of the “Bergisch Land” north east of Cologne. ten vans, one beetle and lot’s of fun. now we all hope for some more of this golden october sun before we put our aircooled friends to sleep…
by the way and just to have mentioned it: all picts shot without Iphone or some funky app… just a bouncing lowered front beam, the driver’s hand and a cheap digital camera were used… don’t try this on public roads… 😉
cheers

hey nasir. it was just great to watch you and your friends enjoying your trip in this amazing landscape. your volkswagens collected smiles and sympathy from all parts of the world… that’s high above average!!! compared to your off road trip I feel like a school boy playing with a toy car … 😉
so I wish you a good start of season and plenty of good times with your friends and your cars. meanwhile our “cold monsoon” called autumn has started and I slowly start to dream of spring 2013.

hey,
Thank you for your comments. I have begun the bodywork (little bumps and bruises from the trip up north) in preparation for the Vintage and Classic car club of Pakistan (VCCCP) rally from the very south of the country- Karachi to the last major city before going to Afghanistan – Peshawar.
We post our pictures on facebook too. You can visit http://www.facebook.com/vwcop
Enjoy your VW’s. maybe we meet someday as attending the Bad camberg is one of items on my bucket list.
Best regards
Nasir.
would be great to meet you at bad camberg one day. let me know if you can make it there… maybe 2013…??? and don’t forget to post some picts of this VCCCP rallye on facebook.
best regards
Mario
In this part of the world we have just started our ‘activity’ season. Summers in Pakistan are HOT! The temperatures sometimes hit 50*C (and more) while it stays in the upper 40’s for most of the time. Then come the rains….the famous Monsoons…good for the hydroelectric dams and the crops but not so for our VW’s health. So come September we start planning activities meets and day trips.
Our show seasons may be different times, we may drive on the ‘wrong’ side of the road (Pakistan has right hand drive traffic) but our VW’s get about the same smiles per mile average as VW’s in any part of the world.
